There are a number of ways you can get involved with The High Nature Centre:
1. WWOOFingWWOOF - World Wide Opportunities On Organic Farms
WWOOF is an international volunteering organisation aimed at people who are interested in Organic Farming and Low Impact Living. WWOOFing is a fantasitc way to visit interesting projects, meet like minded people and gain new valuable skills and knowledge. WWOOF Hosts provide volunteers with food and board in exchange for helping out on the farm or small holding. We are a WWOOF Host, so if you would like to come and WWOOF at The High Nature Centre then please join the WWOOF organisation and get in contact with us via them.
2. Open/Work Days
Join in on one of our monthly open/work days where you can come and learn about the Centre and get stuck into the day to day running of it. The day usually begins with a short walk and talk of the site, then moves onto some group work on the land and finishes with late afternoon tea. We usually suggest to people to bring a shared lunch. If you are interested in coming to the next open/work day please get in touch.
3. Cultural Events
Why not come along to one of our cultural events? It's a great way to see the project and make new friends. Our events range from BBQ's to Film Nights to Apple Pressing. Our events are advertised on our Media Portal on the homepage.
4. Freecycle / Donate
Here at High Nature we do our best to reuse and recycle quality old unwanted items. We are always on the look out for decent second hand: tools, furniture, carpet, rugs, textile materials, sewing machines, nature books & magazines etc. If you have something which you think the project could put to good use, please get in contact.
